Welcome to the only sanctuary in North America dedicated to members of the Hyaenidae family. Our mission is to provide a safe, secure, life long home for displaced or unwanted hyenas that cannot be returned to the wild. Our sanctuary focuses on excellence in physcial and emotional care- advocating animal welfare through education. With a combined 80+ years hyena husbandry experience among our board members we can offer superior care for all members of the Hyaenidae family.
All the images you see currently are from the hyenas that inspired this sanctuary. These are just some of the animals we hope to save. We will accept hyenas from around the world, regardless of their origin; ex-research, pet, or zoo animals retired from display. We owe it to all hyenas to give them a comfortable home to live out their days in.
Funding is primarily through donations. We are a 501(c)(3) Public Charity. There are numerous ways to help us out: Donate via Paypal, set us up as your charity of choice through Amazon Smile, or see if your employer has matching contributions through such charatable assistance programs such as Benevity.
We are currently still under construction and not open to accept animals at this time. We are aiming for an opening in late 2020.
